Restaurant Web Design London | Royal Nawaab Case Study

Restaurant Website Project & Web Development in London

We have been working with Royal Nawaab for a number of years and we are proud to have a long standing relationship with the multi-award winning restaurant.

Project Requirements.

Website Design & Development Project for Prestigious Indian Restaurant in London.

Royal Nawaab is more than just a restaurant, it also has some of the country’s most sought-after banqueting suites.

Bringing the perfect mix of quality food, good value for money and high-end decor, Royal Nawaab needed a website that showcased everything that makes their venues so popular.

With locations in London and Manchester, the website needed a dedicated user journey for each location so that the correct information is seen by the right audience.

Their large venues have to be seen to be believed, with interiors that wouldn’t look out of place in a palace. For this reason imagery was always going to be key in this project.

Our Solution.

At visionsharp we never use pre-made themes and all of our website projects are designed from scratch with the client’s branding and requirements in mind at all times. Custom web design from scratch allows us consider the needs, purpose and end goal of each page or section, as well as looking at how the style and look will appeal to the target demographic and stay consistent to the brand.

To showcase the amazing venues we decided to make use of promotional videos that Royal Nawaab already had. The videos allow users to see much more of the venues and get a greater feel for the atmosphere and experience of dining at Royal Nawaab than images do.

We created a mobile-focused scrolling experience that allowed for clearly defined sections to explain every aspect of Royal Nawaab’s restaurants and banqueting suites.

We put forward the idea of having a virtual tour on the website so that visitors could ‘walk’ around every area of the venue. The result of this can be seen here.

Further to our initial App development, we have since implemented a bespoke table reservation system with deposit payments and SMS confirmation. The bespoke system charges a deposit fee per head for table reservations that are for 25 or more people, which can be paid by Debit/Credit Card, ApplePay, GooglePay or PayPal.

Mobile Restaurant App Development in London

Beyond the website, Royal Nawaab wanted to be at cutting-edge of technology trends and wanted a dedicated iOS and Android app for their takeaway offering.

The apps includes both delivery and collection methods, with the delivery method including an initial postcode check to see if delivery is available to their location or not.

With simple categories and easy quantity selectors on each item, we have created a very user friendly ordering experience.

By making use of a custom-build web API platform, we have been able to give administrators full control over most aspects of the app. The web platform allows control over data such as; The food on the menu, the item prices, the delivery and collection time frames and the ability to open and close the app to reflect opening hours. With all of this data being managed through a web portal and the apps reading this data through an API, it means that instant changes can be made to the data that is displayed to the customers in the app.

We have also integrated ApplePay and GooglePay alongside Credit/Debit card payments to give customers the easiest methods of payments available and speed up the ordering process.

Additional Developments.

Further to our initial development, we have established a lasting relationship with Royal Nawaab through the continuous development of additional features and functionality that keep the website moving forward.

Some of the bigger developments we have completed include a gift voucher purchasing system, and a table reservation system with deposit payments.

For the gift voucher system, as Royal Nawaab is a buffet restaurant, it made sense that rather than the gift vouchers having a monetary value, they would be priced and redeemed on a ‘person’ level. Once a voucher(s) is purchased, the recipient receives an email with an auto-generated, branded PDF of the voucher that has their unique reference number on it.

The bespoke table reservation system was developed to charge a deposit fee per head for table reservations that are for 25 or more people, which can be paid by Debit/Credit Card, ApplePay, GooglePay or PayPal. Once the table reservation is confirmed, the user receives confirmation through SMS. The SMS functionality was integrated through the Twilio API.
